Once you've sucked their blood, your vampire will take on the class of the creature that you choose to feast on. Rather, you obtain your class by feeding on the blood of living creatures throughout the game's world. You don't choose a class when you create a character in V Rising. The key difference, though, is that you have the freedom to actively switch between these classes as much as you want. Additionally, the V Rising also has the standard class system that you'd come to expect from a game that takes inspiration from Diablo. It's something that I've yet to see from the genre, and I'm really surprised it took this long for a dev team to attempt it. V Rising is, at its core, Diablo with survival-crafting elements. That's one of the biggest outliers when it comes to this game. The first thing that might jump out at you when you watch gameplay of V Rising is its relation to Diablo. The first, and more important thing I can say about V Rising is that it actually tries to be different. Initially, I was going to ignore it, but once I saw more of my friends jumping in, I decided a mere $20 wasn't going to break the bank for me. I never anything regarding its imminent launch prior to its official release on the 17th. Like Valheim, V Rising is a game that seemingly no one knew about. Why do I bring up the success of Valheim in this review? Because in the case of V Rising, it looks like the viral success that struck with Valheim has struck once more. Yet, even without these factors, the game quickly spread by word-of-mouth, and within a mere month-and-a-half to two months, the game had millions of devoted players. There no hype surrounding it and no big announcements for its release in late Feb. Last year, an indie survival game called Valheim quietly released on Steam.
